Dear St. Joseph Families,

Catholic Schools Week is NEXT WEEK! Each year, we take time especially highlight the things that speak to our Catholic Identity. The most essential aspects highlighted during Catholic Schools Week are are our students and Christ. Plain and simple, you cannot have a school without students. St. Joseph Catholic School was founded in 1951 in order to share Christ to the families of Northwest Louisiana. In doing so, it is vital that students have the opportunity to encounter Christ at our school every single day and throughout the school day. This is experienced through school-wide and class prayer, religion classes throughout the week, monthly virtues and saints, and required service hours for our middle school students.

We also bring our students to worship every single week by celebrating the Mass. At the Mass, we believe that students encounter Christ in a very powerful in the Sacrament of Holy Communion. The Eucharist is defined in the Catechism as the “central act of Christian worship (CCC #1824). WE teach that all leads us to Christ and all should flow from Christ in this manner.

Why is this our focus? As one of the largest ministries of St. Joseph Catholic Church, it is our responsibility to bring the the Gospel to those entrusted to our care. We strive daily to do this effectively so that our students will grow in the knowledge and wisdom of Christ through the efforts and witness of our faculty. Thank you for choosing SJS! St. Joseph, pray for us.
