Dear SJS Families,

As the first week of school is behind us, we did experience several members of the community with positive test results for COVID-19. While medical experts refer to Omicron as a less intense virus, it is certainly contagious. It has even shown up in individuals who tested positive earlier this school year.

It is important, as you have done in the past, to communicate with the school if your child has either tested positive or if your child had close contact with someone with the virus. The guidelines from the C.D.C. have been updated and it can be found on the last page of the Falcon News. There are multiple options that are more feasible than simply staying isolated for 10 days. It is important that you read them carefully. If you have any questions on such topics, please call the office.

The COVID era is frustrating. We want normalcy and we want it now. Still, here we are and we must be prudent in the decisions that we make and put our trust in God’s providence. Let us pray for wisdom for those in authority. Let us also hope that all of this is soon behind us.

St. Joseph, pray for us.
