Dear SJS Families,

Welcome Back to St. Joseph Catholic School!

The 2021-22 school year will hopefully be a great experience for everyone in our SJS community. We opened our doors this morning to nearly 300 students, our highest total in the last three years. We are excited to welcome so many new faces. Please be on the lookout every Monday evening for our Falcon News. By now, our families have seen our updated look. This new look is also part of the Falcon News this year. Our school crest is available but please be patient with the uniform providers as it is the start of the new school year. Again, the older crest is still part of the school uniform for this year.

As I addressed the students on KJOE this morning, new or old, I challenged them to do three things every single day:

  • Ask questions. Your teachers are here to help. Whether you have been here or if you are a new student, change can be difficult. We all need help and the teachers are willing to give it.
  • Go out of your way every day to do something kind for someone else. Our focus this year is the virtue of charity. It does not cost anyone anything to do something kind for someone else. We can do great work by trying to find something good to do.
  • Spend time each day with God. He is the reason our school is here. He is the reason we are here. Talk with Him. Let Him know how you are feeling and what is going on. He wants to hear from you. Make it your goal each to spend time with Him. Begin with 5 minutes each day. Parents can even bring their kids to the church before or after school to spend time with their kids there.

We are still in the year of St. Joseph with many great activities happening. We wish to keep you in the know about things happening. Please keep us in your prayers every day and we will do the same for all of our families.
