This Saturday is our Roaring ‘20s Soiree held at the Silver Lake Ballroom. The event will begin at 6pm and will go until 10pm. This is an event sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and will be put on by our St. Joseph PTO. It is an annual fundraiser that allows for our parents to have a fun evening, enter to win prizes through our online auction, all while raising money for improvements at St. Joseph Catho-lic School. It is a once a year event and we look for-ward to seeing you there and participating in the silent auction. You may do so by downloading the Hand Bid app, just as last year. We are grateful to have such an evening as it was canceled due to the beginning of the stay-at-home-order.
While it is going to be a fun evening, it is important to note that Sunday, March 28th, Palm Sunday, marks the beginning of Holy Week. This is consid-ered the holiest time of the year as we enter final preparations for the celebration of the Paschal Mys-tery of our Lord, Jesus Christ. It is important to con-sider how grateful we ought to be to have such an opportunity to participate in the celebration of the Holy Triduum– Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter beginning with the vigil Mass.
You may recall that last year, most of us were cele-brating these holy days by gathering around a tv in our living rooms. Let us prepare for the joy of Easter by engaging in the practices of Lent. Please consider doing so by helping out SJS with our Lenten almsgiv-ing project with the St. Vincent DePaul. Society. Information can be found on page 6.
