Dear St. Joseph Families,

Is next week really Holy Week? It seems like everything gets here before you know it. It seems like yesterday that we began gathering at the church on Friday evenings for the Stations of the Cross and to-go boxes of fried fish! Before we know it, we will be celebrating the long-awaited Easter feast and the entire Triduum. As Lent has flown by, maybe it is important to stop and reflect on how the journey has gone and where we go from here as we prepare for the coming of the Passion of the Lord.

Speaking of taking inventory, it is important to communicate with families regarding our accreditation visit last week. As I was traveling with our representative from Lumen (he had to visit Loyola’s campus after ours), he turned to me in the car and stated, “You have a great thing going here!” I take those words as something meant to be shared with every teacher, staff member, student, parent, council member, pastor, and stakeholder of every kind. You make St. Joseph the sacred and special place that it is. It is our goal to always make our school a pleasing offering to God, in gratitude for the blessings he shares with us.

We ask that you come out on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon to Shreveport Little Theatre to support our students who have worked so hard on the musical, “Dare to Dream, Jr.” Their wonderful voices will surely bring a smile to your face. See the QR code to purchase tickets.

Finally, let us pray for our own Lenisse Perez, as the state award winners for Catholic School Student of the Year will be announced this Friday. We are already very proud of you! Have a great week, everyone. St. Joseph, pray for us.
