Dear St. Joseph Families,
When going through recent essays about what students love about our school, they often mention getting to go to Mass every week. They love spending time with the Lord and praying together as a community. What a great witness by our students. They truly realize the most important part of the week is worshipping the Lord. It is a critical part of each Catholic school and we will always make this a top priority at St. Joseph as we are a very important ministry of this church parish.
Speaking of our parish, this weekend, St. Joseph Catholic Church is celebrating it’s diamond anniversary- 75 years. What an incredible legacy- a parish that has remained strong as an important home for many of our families. The majority of our students are parishioners of this parish and many more are formed to receive the sacraments through our church. A large number of students regularly go through OCIA to enter the church as newly baptized Christians. It is often said that St. Joseph is a family of families and to be part of this is truly a blessing.
Let us do our part to worship as part of his family. We will gather together as church and school this Friday for the Feast of All Saints- a holy day of obligation. This means that Catholics are required to attend and worship together for this feast. Let us gather together to worship Christ as one body and one family, setting an example to our students who believe this to be the most important action we can perform. I hope to see you then.
PS, This upcoming date is important to me as well as it will also mark 5 years since my family and I moved here to join this wonderful family- a move for which the I will always be grateful. Lots of happy anniversaries! St. Joseph, pray for us.
