Dear St. Joseph Families,
In any sport, the fourth quarter is a time of great anticipation. You’ve had the time to evaluate what works and what doesn’t. There is a sense of accountability for what one is responsible for and sometimes a sense of urgency to do what is necessary before time runs out. Here we are! It is time for students who may be on the cusp of doing well to do what is necessary to improve.
This may mean a little more time studying (it wouldn’t hurt to go to tutoring sessions provided in the library by Loyola students). For students who are struggling a little more, checking in with the teachers regularly would be helpful. You can find all information on FACTS with a host of links that will assist your child who may struggle to bring a book home or may have forgotten what was for homework. For students who have achieved a high level of excellence, the temptation is always strong to take a breather or to allow distractions take priority. The call is to do all things well in order to glorify God in all that we do.
Sometimes there can be temptation to find shortcuts or or an “easier way” to do things. It is better to make the B or the C than to worry matters of integrity. There are plenty of teachers who support your child and will guide them throughout the school day. I advise any student to simply ask more questions so that they can receive the help they need. One, it shows the desire to learn and to do well. Two, it may reveal the need to assist that a teacher may not have picked up on. We hope to see all dads at our Father’s Day Mass this Wednesday at 8:15. We also invite all parents to attend our Academic Awards Ceremony this Thursday at 1:30 for elementary and 2:15 for middle school. St. Joseph, pray for us.
