Dear St. Joseph Families,
We hope everyone had a relaxing spring break and that everyone was able to spend quality time with their families. We are now in the fourth quarter of the school year. If you are a fan of sports, you know that no matter how the previous three quarters have gone, the came can be won or lost in the final stages. Coaches and athletes know that they cannot let off the gas at the end. Rather, this is the time when they do their best. We hope that your child has saved the best for this last quarter.
When you receive your child’s report card on Wednesday, go over his or her grades and ask if the child met his or her own expectations. If your child has not met your expectations, discuss with him or her what could have been done different to achieve the desired outcome. Then, make a plan for the fourth nine weeks and set goals that will impact this grading period.
One of the most important factors in a child’s success is simply showing up and showing up on time. Students need to be present in order to be successful. Sure, illnesses occur, but hopefully, we are beyond flu season. If your child has to miss school, be sure to have a doctor’s note returned to the office ASAP. Have good conversations with your child’s teacher and encourage them to be the ones to communicate regarding missing work. Again, having your child present and on time will help regarding any of these concerns.
Fathers, grandfathers, and godfathers, we hope you can make it for Mass on Wednesday as we honor you on the feast of St. Joseph, our patron. Mass is at 8:15 AM. St. Joseph, pray for us.
