Dear St. Joseph Families,
The SJS Parent-Student Handbook was sent out over the summer, emphasizing the importance of parents reading the document so that there are clear expectations for each year. Please be sure to take time to do so. I ask that parents take time to read the attendance policies. To help parents keep track of attendance, the school will be notifying you along certain intervals of tardies and absences. With everything, we have to work together! Everyone- teachers and parents- wish to ensure greater student success in the classroom. Outside of making sure that your child gets a good night’s rest, the most important way to set your child up for success is having them at school and on time (unless they are sick because nobody wants that). This ensures that they do not miss the necessary instruction that occurs. We ask that you provide communication with us when a child is ill or must miss due to extenuating circumstances. This will allow your child to make up work missed in an expected and appropriate time frame.
Parents, please make every attempt to attend the Technology night on Tuesday, August 27th in the gym. Some parents still struggle with FACTS and where to locate important resources. This year, we have introduced a number of apps to hopefully make life easier. Bloomz has proven to be an effective communication tool, but some are struggling with the app. We have introduced a single sign-on app known as Clever. Learning how to use all of this will not only benefit your child, but you as well. Starting Friday, September 6th, we will have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, 9AM-3PM every first Friday of the month. We invite parents to attend and pray with us for the entire St. Joseph family. Have a blessed week. St. Joseph, pray for us.
