Dear St. Joseph Families,

Did someone get the number on that train? I think it was week one of the school year! We had an amazing time welcoming our students to the campus this past week, and we are now in full swing. One of the most important parts of getting back to school is establishing a routine. It is something that both home and school should be working on for the good of the student.

For our K-Village students, an early bedtime is critical. It is recommended that 3 and 4 year olds get between 10 and 12 hours of sleep per night. It is not much different for middle schoolers, as they are recommended to get between 8 and 12 hours. An early bedtime is not always conducive to life’s schedule, but it is critical to academic success.

Part of a solid routine is to have your child to school on time. There are trains, there is highway construction, school zones, and unpredictable moments in the morning. Being on time ensures your child is present for the important matters at school, from KJOE to morning lessons, to getting a fully allotted time for a test. For your courtesy and consideration, we thank you in advance.

Don’t forget that our annual Back to School night is Thursday, August 21, at 5:30 PM. It is for grades 1st-8th, as K-Village had a full orientation for parents already. Middle school families will be dismissed first to their child’s homeroom class and will follow a Monday schedule. Elementary families will meet briefly with enrichment teachers before going to homeroom classes.
