Dear St. Joseph Families,

We have certainly experienced a fair share of celebrating St. Nicholas so far in the month of December. If you know anything about our incredible saint, it is is that he sought to meet the needs of others, especially young children. This is why so many events such as these happen in and around our school. One thing we can meet during this Advent season is meeting their spiritual needs of the children. While 7th and 8th grade finished their class retreats, there is more to do for them- and other grades.

First, try reviewing the virtue. We have a new one this month- MEEKNESS. What better example can we set than showing our children how to live out this virtue, which also meets their spiritual needs.

Second, there are many opportunities to bring our children to church for them to experience the peace of Christ even more. Try coming to Mass this Wednesday or the Lessons and Carols on Sunday afternoon.

Lastly, middle school parents, try to follow up with your child regarding what was discussed at the retreats this week. All of us ought to stop and pray during this hustle and bustle time. Can we all at least try to do night time prayer with our children? Making time for our young people and making time for Christ can go hand-in-hand. When we set the example as parents and educators, we emphasize how important such matters are. St. Joseph, pray for us.
