Dear SJS Families,
On December 8, 2020, Pope Francis declared this time to be a year dedicated to our patron, St. Joseph. From being named private school of the year, to having 2 Diocesan Students of the Year and 1 State Private School Student of the Year, and celebrating the 70th Anniversary of our school, it has been a time of great blessing for all of us.
I invite you to attend Mass with us on Wednesday, December 8th, for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception (holy day of obligation) as well as the official close for the year of St. Joseph.
It is fitting that the close of the year be on the end of a feast of Our Lady. St. Joseph loved her purely and completely. He also loved our Lord by protecting him from harm and provided for him through his labor as a carpenter. Let us hope that these values of this most important saint will be present at our school, now and for 70 more years.
As we finished our Cognia Accreditation review, it was communicated with the administration that when our students who were interviewed were asked about how they would spend 5 million dollars to make St. Joseph better, it was hard to hold back tears when the selfless answers of charity and support for others were given as response. With this in mind, I ask that our students utilize the envelopes they received to assist our retired priest community by giving at the collection taken up at Mass this Wednesday.
St. Joseph, pray for us.
