Dear SJS Families,

This week, Governor John Bel Edwards’ Mask Mandate is set to expire on Wednesday. That does not mean that it will not be renewed and will continue for some time. St. Joseph Catholic School continues to seek guidance re-garding such matters.

While we are at the end of the school year, we are still dedicated to this cause for the remainder of the school. At this point, we are in a better place than when we started the school year and we will continue to strive for what is in the best interest of the school. That is why we will continue to observe the CDC guidance pro-vided for the re-opening of schools and this is in our original guidance plan for the school year.

In the guidance, you will see that students in grades 3-8 are required to wear masks at all times. Students in the lower grades, k3-2nd will still be strongly encouraged to wear them as well. We still expect parents to monitor symp-toms before bringing students to school each day.

LUNCHES were free this year thanks to relief provided for such a situation as this year. For the 2021-22 school year, lunches will be once again be FREE FOR ALL STUDENTS! There will still be a charge for any snacks or extras, as the case was for this school year.
