IMPORTANT NEWS REGARDING 

BASKETBALL SEASON 

Middle School Boys Basketball tips off this Thursday at St. John Berchman’s. The school year has presented us with a number of challenges but we desire to have a level of nor-malcy with our athletic program. It has been discussed by and agreed upon by all schools in the private school league that the following regulations must be observed: 

• Roster sizes are limited to 15 players or less 

• No more than 1 girl team and 1 boy team (we would still love to have a girls team but we need a coach to step up) 

• No concessions and cheerleading squads performing at the games 

• Attendance is limited to 2 guests for every player on either team for home games. None of the schools can make exceptions to this rule. All guests are required to have temperatures checked, wear a mask, and observe social distancing 

Again, this is the decision made by the heads of school of all participating private schools. This is not a matter we can change and the decision is not made to exclude any-one. Rather, the decisions have been made in order to limit risk for the spread of Covid-19. 

As principal of St. Joseph Catholic School, I recognize that not everyone will be pleased by the decision, but if our goal is to have indoor sports at all, difficult decisions and sacri-fices must be made.
