Dear SJS Families,

I wish to personally thank all of you for a such a generous and rapid response to assist our fellow man in this time of need. Within the first day of fundraising, we brought in over $1,500 dollars. This is truly the response that our state needs at this time. We have many snack items collected at this time as well. I encourage you to respond to the call to serve in this manner.Thank you for your kindness and generosity. If anyone wishes to continue to give, please send donations to school with your child. If you know of anyone in need who is displaced, please share with them the St. Joseph Catholic Church office number at (318) 865-3581.

On a different note, St. Joseph Catholic School is striving to assist our students to be the best they can be. One way this is being done this year is by partnering with Learning Rx to have our students screened for learning disabilities. The initial screenings have taken place.Learning Rx will provide parents with the opportunity to attend a virtual informational meeting on September 13th at 5:30 PM. The school will send out the link so that all parents may attend.

Remember that what has taken place is an initial screening. Parents who wish to continue with further testing as well as seeking out services for their child will receive information for what steps to take next.

We pray that you had a restful and enjoyable 3-day weekend and that the students have a blessed shortened week of school. St. Joseph, pray for us.
