Welcome to Holy Week!

As many of you know, this is considered the holiest time on the Christian calendar. The Church marks it as such be-cause it is during this week that we participate fully in the Paschal Mystery. These are celebrat-ed in the Triduum, a 3-day celebration of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter. The entire season of Lent prepares us for such a celebration to take place in our hearts but it is to be lived out in our lives by participating in these liturgies ourselves. We invite you to the celebrations at St. Joseph Catholic Church, but we certainly en-courage you to participate in the activities in your home church as well.

This Wednesday, our 8th grade class will put on a production of the Living Stations of the Cross. This will take place in the church at 9:45AM and at 10:45AM. Consider this more of a time of prayer and less of a play as we prepare to participate in the Lord’s Passion.

Lastly, while we are making much progress in society regarding Covid, let us still operate with a healthy level of caution regarding such matters. At this time last year, we were nearing the end of a 2-week attempt to flatten a curve. Let us be vigilant in matters of health and safety. Still, let us be grateful that we are not required to gather around a television or computer screen to cele-brate this holiest of weeks.
