Susan Belanger, Principal
Susan Belanger has a Bachelor’s in Education, a Master of Arts in School Counseling, and a Master of Arts in School Administration. She has experience in almost every aspect of school life and loves sharing her talents with other teachers as an administrator. She is in her twelfth year as principal of St. Joseph Catholic School.
She is married to David, who is retired from the U.S. Air Force, and together they have three sons. In her free time, she enjoys playing Bridge and Mah-jong with friends and working in her garden.
Katherine Suckle, Instructional Coordinator
Katherine Suckle has a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from LSU-S. This is her 4th year at St. Joseph Catholic School. Before becoming the Instructional Coordinator, she taught 2nd grade for 3 years. She previously taught K5, 2nd, and 3rd grade in Bossier. Katherine is married to Aaron. They have two children who attend St. Joseph.
Peggy Gremillion has a Bachelor of General Studies with a concentration in Psychology from Louisiana Tech and is completing her 21st year here at St. Joseph Catholic School. She is an administrative assistant in the school office and is the coordinator for After-School Care and After-School Academy. Peggy has a son, Steven, an alumnus of SJS, who currently works for Google. Her job is her vocation, and she feels blessed by the privilege of serving God and His school. Peggy enjoys being with family, sports, music, reading, her bridge group and walking.
Heather Phares, Counselor
Heather Phares has a B.S. in Psychology from The University of Mississippi and a M.S. in Counselor Education from William Carey University. She is a member of the American School Counselor Association and is working towards her EdD in Community Care and Counseling as well as her LPC license. Heather has served as the SJS School Counselor since 2016. Prior to this, she completed her counseling internship in Mississippi from 2015-2016 in both the elementary and high school settings from one of the top ranked school district’s in Mississippi. Heather loves working with children and families and believes that all children need is a little help, a little hope, and somebody who believes in them. Heather enjoys spending time with her husband and children, reading, listening to music, and traveling.
Michael Stanaland, IT Director
Michael Stanaland studied Computer Science at LSU-S and has a Certified Minister degree from The Berean School of the Bible. He has served as Director of Information Technology since 2013, as the Technology teacher since 2015 and as the KJOE sponsor since 2018 and loves to see children take an interest in how things work around them. Michael is married to his wife, Angela, and has one daughter and one son. When not fixing computer problems, Michael enjoys volunteering, playing board games, camping, hunting and spending time with his friends and family.
