Dear St. Joseph Families,

Last week, you may recall, we said goodbye to Ms. Peggy Gremillion. We are grateful for her service of over 25 years, caring for the St. Joseph community. In her honor, there is a statue of the Blessed Mother, Ms. Peggy’s favorite saint, located outside of the school office. At this time, we also welcome back to the SJS administrative staff, Mrs. Jessica Dixon. Many of you know Jessica as a mother to two of our students. Many of the dads may also know her husband, Jeff who has helped out at many of our dad workdays. Jessica worked for the school office several years back and returns to us after many years at the Caddo Parish School Board. It is great to have a familiar face in this position. It is also great to have someone who has a heart for our students, our faculty, and is knowledgeable in regards to school operations.

One of the most difficult things to do is ask for help. Sometimes students are just too shy or parents do not know where to turn. In regards to tutoring, we have a free program offered on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, 3:05 PM- 4:15 PM. Grades 3-8 may attend tutoring at no charge. What is expected is the understanding that this is not free after-care. Students who come to tutoring are here because they need the help. You may coordinate with your child’s teacher for assistance in what your child needs for tutoring.

St. Joseph, pray for us.
