Dear SJS Families,
We are now entering our 6th week of the school year! It is a surprise that the interruption from daily instruction that has occurred was due to the effects of Hurricane Laura. We have had a few required to quarantine, but this was due to exposure and not a positive diagnosis of the virus.
With Phase 3 now in effect, it is important to com-municate on a few matters. The CDC and the Loui-siana Dept. of Health provide updated guidance for mitigation measures. It is no coincidence that the virtue of PATIENCE was chosen to begin the school year.
Many are communicating their Covid fatigue and just want this to be over. We can all agree that we want this to end ASAP. The only way that this will happen is to be obedient to the mitigation measures. Following the measures has been to the benefit of our school and big thank you’s to our parents, students, and teachers are in order.
Know that any part of the plan that is in place at SJS is to ensure the health and safety of the St. Joseph community while ensuring an excellent Catholic education. You may find our plans for phase 3 by visiting the school website at:

At this time, we are still taking temperatures, wearing masks, social distancing, cleaning hands, and disinfecting classrooms and surfaces regularly. Continue to pray for one another as one body, dedi-cated towards a common goal.
