Dear St. Joseph Families,

As much as I want to talk to everyone about how amazing our 4th Annual Falcon Fest was, I have to direct our attention to this week. Thursday is the end of the 9 Weeks! It is crunch time for some of us. If you’ve ever watched a runner slow down, thinking they’ve won the race prior to crossing the finish line, you’ve also seen them finish in 2nd or 3rd place. The race is not over! Make sure that our Falcons are running so as to win. Academic excellence is something that we must pursue. If they need additional help with tests this week, send them to our tutoring session on Tuesday this week, 3:05-4:15 PM in the library provided by Loyola’s National Honor Society. Make sure that they have all assignments turned in. If anyone ever complains that St. Joseph doesn’t do anything, they probably have not been on our campus in October!

This week, aside from being the home stretch, has several activities we really wish for you to be a part of. On Wednesday at 8:15 AM, in lieu of Mass, we will have our annual rosary. The priests are on retreat so we will gather together as a school to pray for our country and for respect for all human life. Life is the most precious gift and is the will of God. It is also the first of all inalienable rights mentioned in the Declaration of Independence. Let us pray for the preservation of this most precious gift. At the conclusion is our tradition of the release of the balloon rosary and you won’t want to miss that!

Join us on Thursday, October 10th for our Hispanic Heritage Program! Ms. Sanchez has been working everyday to ensure that the students are well-prepared to display the beauty of the Hispanic culture. Songs and dances of modern and traditional cultural expression will be on display. What a way to send us into Fall Break! No school Friday-Tuesday! St. Joseph, pray for us.
