Dear St. Joseph Families,

Our parish has celebrated its 75th anniversary this past weekend. Since, 1949, St. Joseph Catholic Church has been a home to many families as a place of faith and community. Our school, since 1951, has remained the largest and arguable the most important ministry. Students come through our school and find a home here because their faith was nourished within these walls- anywhere from 1 to 11 years!

At Saturday’s parish gala, I met a number of families who came back home to celebrate this anniversary and spoke highly of their days at St. Joseph Catholic School. A number of locals now have grandchildren who attend SJS and frequent all of the activities. Others continued on with how wonderful the students of the school are and fell absolutely in love with them again when our precious K5 students performed the Parade of Saints.

I can go on and on about how full my heart was by the end of the evening. I can continue to about how great it is that our school is truly cherished and supported by our parish. Still, our goal is that we continue to make a difference in the life of this parish as a key ministry when St. Joseph celebrates the 100th anniversary!

One of the most important ways to continue the legacy of St. Joseph Catholic School is to support the mission through continued charitable giving. Tuition will always have a challenge of covering expenses of a budget to educate over 300 students. What is important is that we strive to fill the gap through fundraising, including expenses that tuition dollars to do not meet. The St. Joseph Catholic School Annual Fund is an important way to support our mission. You will begin to receive information this week regarding the annual giving to this ministry. Prayerfully consider how you may provide support for a great and worthy cause. Saint Joseph, pray for us.
