Dear St. Joseph Families,

Cold weather and early sunsets tend to lead us to burrow in our house and retreat from the busyness of the world. You could even say that online shopping has encouraged such behavior. If we are created in the image and likeness of God, as Genesis states, we are created beings that desire community. God himself states that “It is not good for man to be alone.” While it is slightly out of context, it is still the desire of our hearts to live in community as our God, the Trinity does so.

Instead of retreating to the sofa under a blanket for the next three weeks, take a look at the newsletter and prayerfully consider the many options to celebrate this season with the St. Joseph School and Church community-even in the Diocese of Shreveport! Remember, there are actually 4 Weeks of this faith-filled journey of Advent that lead us to the Love of Christ found at Christmas, and each week is itself a gift- Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love.

Take a moment and peruse the newsletter and see how you can plug in. There literally is something for everyone! Need a night out to shop and run errands? Take 3 opportunities to do so while your children receive faith-based instruction at Nativity Nights! Need a fun night out with other SJS moms? Take a look at Tuesday Night’s PTO event! Want your kid to have the most amazing Christmas experience? Pancakes with Santa is one of the best traditions at SJS! Love gumbo or looking to show off your culinary skills? Look no further than the upcoming St. Nick’s feast! Want to support vocations and have a great time? The annual Priests vs Seminarians basketball game is right around the corner! DON’T FORGET! NIGHT 2 of the Parish Mission is TONIGHT at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Let us celebrate the season and journey of Advent together! St. Joseph, pray for us.
