Dear SJS Families, As we venture into the time of Holy Week, we are conscious that this the season in which we recall the central mysteries of our faith. Holy Thursday is a very special date in which our Lord, at Passover, revealed his plan to institute the sacrament of Holy Communion. In this moment, we have a very intimate bond with our Lord where He makes Himself present to us, physically and spiritually. On Good Friday, we recall the sacrifice of our Lord who offered His own flesh on the cross for our salvation. Through this, He paid a price we ourselves could not pay for He is the Lamb worthy of an offering to the Father in heaven. Finally, we prepare to celebrate the joyous resurrection of our Lord at Easter. He is the one who has not only conquered sin and death, but opens the gates of heaven for our salvation as well. We invite you to participate in the events of Holy Week at St. Joseph’s. At school, we are going to perform the Living Stations of the Cross. Our 8th graders will be performing this for the entire school that we may reflect on the sufferings of Christ for each and every one of us. We will be out of School on Good Friday as well as Easter Monday as this is a sacred time that we can spend reflecting on the Pascal Mystery of Jesus Christ with our families. I pray that this experience will draw all of our families in closer union with Him.
