Dear St. Joseph Families,

Did you know that Friday marks the end of the 3rd Weeks? It so hard to believe that we are this far into the school year! We only have 10 weeks left. This means a few things for your students. First, let us consider making sure the students persevere to the end of the school year. Students who are successful or students who struggle may look at this as a time to “take their foot off of the gas.” They may feel that they can take it easy since they worked so hard. I would advise them to keep such strong momentum going and finish with a high level of dignity reflected in their grades. If they are a student who has found this year to be difficult, there can be no better time to put forth more effort. Students should see this as an opportunity to work even harder to ensure that they are successful at the end of the school year, and that this is reflected in their report cards.

Students have opportunities to receive assistance by participating in free tutoring on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon during the school week. This still takes place in the school library, after school, 3:05 PM- 4:15 PM. Take advantage of the fact that these students are here to assist your students. It may be a time for you or your student to speak with their teacher to see what areas they may need to show an increased effort in order to earn the grade he or she so desires. Often times, individuals will say that Lent is not always a time of simply giving things up, but rather, it is a time to do something extra. Students can make their school work an offering to the Lord during this time as well. Nothing could be more pleasing than 100% effort given with the opportunity given to our students. St. Joseph, pray for us.
