St. Joseph Catholic School PTO Mission Statement
The St. Joseph Catholic School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a faith based entity comprised of the parents, teachers, and the parish of St. Joseph for the purpose of promoting and ensuring the spiritual and educational excellence of St. Joseph Catholic School.
This committee gives encouragement and recognition to the faculty, administration, active membership and students. Committee is responsible for In-service Teacher’s Breakfast, Mother’s Day Mass reception and Teacher Appreciation week.
School Directory Committee
This committee is responsible for helping collect and organize contact information of enrolled families into the school directory.
This committee supports regular or special SJS PTOmeetings by scheduling the use of facilities for meetings, scheduling special attractions or entertainment, coordinating workdays, and procuring and managing refreshments.
Kindergarten Village Committee
SJS has a wonderful learning environment for our pre-schoolers. This committee would give the “new” parents an opportunity to participate in the PTO. This committee also addresses the needs specific to the Village.
These committees secure funds to help the SJS PTO meet its financial goals through a variety of fundraisers, such as:

Pancake Breakfast with Santa – December
Crawfish Crawl 5K – March
This committee coordinates efforts to encourage participation by all parents in activities for the PTO and school. This committee is responsible for coordinating social activities including the Ice Cream Social, Back to School Night, Pastries with Parents, Muffins with Mom, and other such events should the need arise.
Head Room Mom
This individual ascertains that each grade level has at least 2 room mothers to help their respective teachers with class needs, field trips, and class events throughout the school year, as well as keep the individual room mothers informed of the dates and possible monetary needs of such events.
Catholic Schools Week/Political Action Committee
This committee establishes and maintains communication with the National Organization for Catholic Schools Parents and the diocesan representative, coordinates political action within the association in support of the national advocacy campaigns promoted by the National Organization for Catholic School Parents, and coordinates activities for Catholic Schools Week.
Community Fundraising Committee
This committee is responsible for promoting, collecting and sending in Box-Top’s for Education. This committee also schedules and promotes SJS monthly dinners with proceeds contributed to individual grade levels throughout the school year, including SJS Barnes and Noble Night.
Falcon ANGELS Committee
This committee will assist by Addressing Needs through Giving Encouragement and Lending Support to our SJS families during their time of need, through the coordination of meals and prayer chains. Volunteer are needed for preparation or purchasing of meals, and/or being part of an email prayer chain as needed.
Members of this committee keep up and organize the school’s uniform closet next to the front office. As uniforms come in, they sort through the donations (keeping the usable and recycling the unusable), and hang them up for parents to look through.
